All about CVS
CVS is known mostly as a pharmacy, but their range of products has expanded over the years. It does have a big focus on pharmacy products, but you can also do lots more shopping here. Some of their most popular items include beauty products, food and drinks, and greeting cards. You can also pick up things like magazines here. If you need photo products printing, you can do that at the CVS Photo department.
To find the very best prices on CVS products, you can go to the "ExtraCare Coupon Center" to find all the latest CVS coupons and coupon codes. You can also add them to your favorite stores right here on Tiendeo to make sure you always find out about all the latest CVS discounts!
To find a CVS location near you, you can use the store locator on their official website, cvs.com.
The history of CVS
CVS used to be a subsidiary of the Melville Corporation, which was later renamed the CVS Corporation after they sold off its stores that werent pharmacies. When it began, it was a local chain in the Northeast. Within five years, there were 40 CSV locations.
They really expanded in the early 1970s when they ascquired the Clinton Drug and Discount stores and moved into the Midewst. Today, there are over 9,600 CVS locations across the United States. Recently, they started operating pharmacies inside Target stores.
CVS decides to stop selling cigarettes
To many people outside the United States, it might seem a little bit odd that you can go to a pharmacy and buy cigarettes. After all, pharmacies are supposed to sell things that are good for your health. But here, its actually something fairly normal and commonplace.
Still, there were campaigns to stop the sale of cigarettes in CVS locations. The stores continued to sell cigarettes for a while but received heavy criticism. In 2007, their CEO said they were considering stopping selling cigarettes in CVS stores, but hadnt yet made steps to stop it.
In 2014, it became official: CVS stopped selling not just cigarettes, but also tobacco products at all of its locations. On top of that, they challenged other stores to follow in their foosteps. The day the ban officially began was September 3, 2014.
