The history of Chicos

Chicos started out as a gift shop that sold Mexican folk art called Chicos Folk Art Specialties. Although the idea behind the store was to sell art, their clothing was actually their best selling item. The store opened in 1983, but within two years they ahd opened a second boutique. In 1987, the store was franchised. 

Today, the store sells clothes and accessories and has expanded interntionally. There are 624 Chicos locations, plus another 188 outlet stores where you can get deeper discounts on merchandise. 

What kinds of clothing does Chicos sell? 

Chicos has introduced a few different clothing lines over the years, and they sell a huge range of clothing that will appeal to lots of women. But they have quite a few special collections that are especially popular with their shoppers. 

One of their staples is the So Slimming denim collection, which has dresses, skirts, and pants. All the items have a hidden panel that gives a slimming effect.

The Travelers line is made out of a special fabric that travels well.  

Black Label has been around since 2011, and incorporates elements of luxury and higher end brands, like hand-appliqued details and leather trim.

Their Petite section includes clothing thats sized for women who are shorter and smaller than average.

Zenergy is their line of active and loungewear. Its all made out of soft and comfortable material. They also have a specific Zenergy Golf line.
